Today is a reminder not to panic. Don’t chase shorts at the low end of the RANGE. Today is a good time to review how you were positioned for this move BEFORE it happened. You can’t go back and change what already occurred, but you can get the fractal math on your screen, start studying, and practice the process so you’re ready next time.

VIX

No change in the new volatility regime for the VIX—it’s simply pulling back off the top end of the RANGE. Don’t confuse the calm volatility we saw yesterday with the idea that this is over.

SPY

TREND has now definitely broken. The next target to watch for a potential move is SPY weekly—that’s another 3% lower. Unless we break back to bullish TREND, it is not time to buy or short SPY either way. If you were already positioned for this move, the only action is to sell some and wait for the next fractal move.

SPY (TAIL)

706

QQQ

The market gave you plenty of days to adjust positioning before the crash. That is the entire point of the Signal: one objective source of information you can read and execute on. You don’t need headlines, election results, geopolitical moves, Quads, Keith, me, or anyone else. You just need the Similar Set Signal and the discipline to practice executing the fractal instructions in real time.

Sector Signals

DRAM

Yesterday was a day to sell SOME. Markets don’t move in straight lines. Devil’s advocate: it is still Quad 2, good data continues to come out, and the official switch of Congress isn’t until January 2027 when Quad 4 officially arrives. I’m not calling for signals to reverse—I simply follow the daily fractal instructions. There is a clear reason the process says to sell some after an insane move outside the low end of the RANGE.

UFO

This is what a sustained bear market looks like: plenty of bounces to the top end of the RANGE while remaining firmly in bearish TREND.

QTUM

QTUM and DRAM are basically mirroring each other, so the same execution applies. You should have sold some into the close yesterday.

IGV

Hope is not a risk-management strategy. The Signal said get out; it is now starting to accelerate from TREND. If we get another spike in the VIX, expect this to have a very bad day. I understand that if you’re late it’s hard to cut when everything looks oversold, but the number-one rule is never own a bearish TREND. It first signaled that on October 30 and gave you until November 4 before the real damage hit.

XLP

Train yourself to sell some when big moves like this happen. There is always another play to rotate into with the Similar Set Signal’s full fractal math. Selling some keeps you in the trade if it continues running—in effect it is simply a hedge that takes risk off the table. Being that overbought creates the risk it comes right back to where the move began. I now have bids at the low end of the RANGE for another run.

XLV

Same with XLV. Move incrementally: if it hasn’t touched the low end of the RANGE, add some—not a max position. How you size and transact is ultimately specific to you, but the overall process is clear: buy when the ticker flips TREND, exit if it flips bearish TREND, add when both TRADE and TREND are outside the RANGE and price nears the low end of the RANGE, and sell some at the top end of the RANGE. Look for these setups across diversified sectors and asset classes. You don’t need to be a market guru; you just need an extremely accurate tool that tells you what to do every day (Similar Set Signal).

IAK

Insurance sector:

  • Buy after TREND flip — check.
  • Sell some at top end of RANGE — check.
  • Buy at low end of the RANGE in bullish TRADE TREND — waiting.

XLE

XLE said to exit yesterday. Could this bounce up to TREND and give a better exit? Sure. It could also fall off a cliff like DRAM did. The point is you should no longer be long it. Take a small drawdown on the most recent play, exit with the overall profits from riding this bull since August, and move to the next opportunity. Today that next play was XLU this morning; yesterday, when you were exiting, the rotation was into the dollar (shorting FX).

XLU

What do you do with all those “sell some” proceeds from XLV, XLP, and IAK? Put them into bullish TRADE TREND at the low end of the RANGE—which was XLU this morning.

Macro Markets

DXY

This is not magic. It is fractal math. In all the chaos yesterday, were you able to tune out the noise and focus only on the next play? If you weren’t already positioned, you’re probably in disbelief and denial. For me it was obvious: sell some of the shorts and longs that had been working great (DRAM + XLP, for example) and rotate into the next play—dollar-correlated assets such as FX and GLD. The move was staring me in the face. I didn’t need a single person’s opinion, data point, or “why.” I simply looked at the chart and saw bullish TRADE TREND at the best fractal spot in the entire market.

Euro

Not magic.

GLD

Gold is taking another hit today. It remains firmly in bearish TREND with room down to the low end of the RANGE.

TLT

TLT and XLU are essentially the same chart with a slight lag. Yesterday TLT gave the buy; today XLU did. Both are classified as rate exposure. (XLRE is another one in this camp but not at low end of the RANGE yet).

BTC

The situation in Bitcoin is not great after it broke TRADE, bounced off TREND, and then failed at TRADE again. Immediate-term direction is down while in bearish TRADE, but the rules say wait for a TREND break before a full exit. At minimum, that is the current stance.
