"We fractally measure and map ALL markets simultaneously. In a fractal system every component matters, but not equally. Some nodes carry disproportionate weight in the feedback loop" — Keith McCullough
But it’s like looking at a painting: no two people notice the exact same thing or weight every node equally. That’s why you want to see the entire fractal picture for yourself. VIXVIX is one of the key nodes. Closing prices around TREND are critical. Today it’s leaning back toward bearish TREND, but nothing definitive yet. The painting is still being painted, and with the Similar Set Signal you can visually watch it develop. MOVEBond volatility is still in bullish TREND but has set a lower high, signaling potential peak panic. HYGCredit is the inverse. Yes, it’s in bearish TREND, but it’s holding its higher low. If you want to bet on Quad 4, shorting at the top end of the RANGE in bearish TRADE TREND is the place to do it. SPYSPY is attempting to close back to bullish TRADE as VIX attempts to close bearish TREND. I don’t see an imminent Quad 4 collapse in the signal today. QQQQQQ is up on the day, but TREND is climbing with price, making it a much weaker signal than SPY. This is not new. The place to be short U.S. equities is AI; QQQ just has a much larger concentration of that. MAGSMAGS is now a weaker signal than SPY, so I kept AAPL and MSFT, cut MAGS, and am holding SPY for broad U.S. equity exposure. AAPLBullish TRADE TREND. MSFTBullish TRADE TREND. Sector SignalsIGVSoftware as a sector is also holding bullish TRADE TREND. Still holding minimum on this and added MSFT. XLPWhen you look at the individual sectors in the market, quite a few are in bullish TRADE TREND again. To me that signals no imminent Quad 4 crash—especially if VIX can hold bearish TREND, we could see a rally. KOCoca-Cola within XLP staples is signaling a buy this morning for a potential rally. XLFXLF is another sector giving a buy signal. XLYConsumer discretionary is signaling the same as XLF. Not a broadening Quad 4. TSLATesla is a large component of XLY and is signaling bullish TRADE TREND. XLEEnergy remains strong and is coming up on a potential buy-the-dip fractal area. XLVSimilar fractal setup in healthcare, but a little more room to the low end of the RANGE. SMHThose are all places to have long exposure if VIX remains bearish TREND. If VIX breaks back to bullish TREND, AI is the sector to be short. It’s not quite at the top end of the RANGE yet, though. DRAMAI memory stocks are an even stronger short signal, and depending on your exposure you could start to add here for a hedge. QTUMQTUM is another short to add for a hedge. Overall in equities I’m still seeing plenty of longs and more concentrated shorts. Remember, Quad 4 data doesn’t start to show up until 2027, so I don’t want to be net short looking at today’s fractal painting. Macro MarketsDXYYou don’t have to force U.S. equity shorts to have a diversified book. The best short you could have had on was FX over the past week. EuroEuro is having another great day to the short side. Fractal math again got me positioned before the obvious move lower. EPHESame with the Philippines. Usually between U.S. equities and Macro, one of them has a clear-cut move to make—last week it was Macro. TLTJuly 7th to October 22nd was the macro move in TLT. The signal got you out, and now the low end of the RANGE is climbing above TREND, completely reversing the signal and expectation. GLDGold was another picture-perfect macro short working. Make sure you were selling some at the low end of the RANGE. There are more things to short than just U.S. equities; most people just don’t have a process to go anywhere. The Similar Set Signal allows you to go long or short wherever the market is giving an opportunity. BTCReduced Bitcoin as it broke TRADE. Been riding this since the breakout back in August in the 60s. Keeping minimum and orders waiting at TREND. Most traders stare at charts and still miss the full picture—weighting the wrong nodes, reacting late, or forcing trades that don’t fit the fractal. Similar Set Signal changes that. It lets you see the entire painting develop in real time so you can position ahead of the move instead of chasing it, stay diversified across equities and macro, and avoid being net short (or long) when the signal doesn’t support it. As an overview, VIX, MOVE, HYG, and SPY are all signaling Quad 4. VIX MOVE HYG SPY Shorts like DRAM and QTUM should have been added on the bounce at the top end of...

Earnings plus midterms are driving a big swing in the VIX signal, which is key for overall positioning. VIX Don’t ignore a move like this in the VIX, going from the low end of the RANGE to the top end and slicing right...
